Sonal Dinusha leads Sri Lanka resistance on day three

Sonal Dinusha remained unbeaten on 85 and Pasindu Sooriyabandara scored 80 as Sri Lanka reached 265 for eight on day three of the second Test in Colombo. India declared at 503 for nine after Dhruv Jurel’s century.

Dinusha scored three consecutive innings above 80 against India, a feat previously achieved only by Everton Weekes and Zaheer Abbas. His sweep shots against spin helped keep the lower order intact throughout the extended resistance.

India need two more wickets to enforce the follow-on when play resumes on day four. Rain ended day three early.
