Sourav Ganguly appointed Delhi Capitals head coach for IPL 2027

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has been appointed as head coach of Delhi Capitals for the 2027 Indian Premier League season. Ganguly takes over from Hemang Badani, under whom Delhi Capitals missed out on the IPL playoffs in the last two seasons.

Ganguly first joined Delhi Capitals in 2019 as an Advisor and has held several roles within the franchise, including Director of Cricket for both the men's and women's teams. He was also head coach of Pretoria Capitals, Delhi Capitals' SA20 team, last year.

DC Chairman Parth Jindal said Ganguly's appointment marks a significant step for the franchise. Ganguly's first task will be to finalise support staff and plan retentions before the November 15 deadline. The IPL 2027 mini-auction will be held in Goa in mid-December.
