South Africa delays Rabada Test call
South Africa will make a late decision on Kagiso Rabada's availability for the first Test against Australia.
South Africa will decide Kagiso Rabada's availability for the first Test against Australia as late as possible. Batting coach Ashwell Prince confirmed the fast bowler came through a two-day intra-squad match without major concerns after a hamstring injury.
Rabada has not played red-ball cricket since South Africa's tour of Pakistan in October last year. The 31-year-old missed the recent ODI series and featured in the IPL in May before the injury setback.
South Africa kept an extended 17-man squad to maintain fast-bowling options. Prince said Rabada will continue training this week and the team wants to ensure he can handle Test workloads before naming the XI for the Durban opener on Friday.
