South Africa name squad for Bangladesh Test series
Ngidi's hamstring injury opens the door for Hamza as South Africa prepare for back-to-back Tests on home soil.
South Africa named a 15-player squad for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh starting November 15. Lungi Ngidi was ruled out with a hamstring injury, and Zubayr Hamza received a call-up.
The first Test will be played at DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg from November 15-19, followed by the second Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion from November 23-27. South Africa are currently ranked number one in Test cricket.
Shukri Conrad said the team will focus on seam-bowling options suited to Highveld pitches, noting that Bangladesh's quick bowlers can also exploit those conditions.
