South Australia beat Victoria by an innings and 40 runs in Shield

South Australia completed an innings victory against Victoria in the opening round of the Sheffield Shield at Junction Oval. The two-time defending champions dismissed Victoria for 224 in their second innings to complete the win by an innings and 40 runs. Noah McFadyen took the final wicket and earlier scored 134 in South Australia's innings of 508. Nathan McAndrew and Henry Thornton claimed three wickets each in Victoria's second innings.
