Spain extends de la Fuente contract to 2032

Luis de la Fuente extends Spain contract through 2032 World Cup defence.

Luis de la Fuente will stay on as Spain head coach through 2032. The 65-year-old signed the extension after his old deal was set to run out in 2028. It now covers Spain's home World Cup in 2030.

De la Fuente led Spain to the European Championship in 2024 and the World Cup in 2026. RFEF president Raul Louzan said the federation wanted him to stay on, pointing to results and the way he's worked with the squad.

Spain open their 2026-27 Nations League campaign at Wembley against England on 26 September. De la Fuente replaced Luis Enrique in December 2022 after Spain's last-16 exit at the 2022 World Cup.
