Stokes confirms coaching ambitions after retirement

Ben Stokes said he would absolutely love to coach England one day after confirming his retirement from international cricket. The former captain is already working towards his Level 3 coaching qualifications.

Stokes revealed he had planned to retire after the 2027 Ashes in Australia but realised his body would not allow him to continue that long. He dismissed suggestions that he could have stepped down as captain while continuing as a player.

Stokes also questioned the decision not to give Harry Brook the captaincy when he missed a Test against New Zealand, saying it sent the wrong message to the vice-captain.
