Sunil Gavaskar calls for fines over no-ball rule change after Jadeja's struggles

Sunil Gavaskar urges fines for bowlers who deliver no-balls in Tests following Ravindra Jadeja's struggles against Sri Lanka.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has called for harsher punishment for bowlers who deliver no-balls in Tests. Since 2021, Ravindra Jadeja has bowled more than 85 no-balls in the format.

Gavaskar rejected the idea of a free-hit for no-balls and instead suggested imposing fines on the offending bowler. The issue gained attention after Jadeja bowled multiple no-balls during the recent Test series against Sri Lanka.

Former India cricketer Deep Dasgupta also questioned Jadeja's continued selection after the series, saying his time may be done.
