Suryansh Shedge replaces injured Hardik Pandya in India A squad for Australia A ODIs

Suryansh Shedge steps in for Hardik Pandya after the all-rounder suffers a fresh injury.

Mumbai all-rounder Suryansh Shedge has replaced Hardik Pandya in the India A squad for the three-match one-day series against Australia A. Hardik was ruled out after an MRI on September 19 showed mild right medial tibial stress syndrome. The series begins on October 6 in Puducherry.

Hardik had been named in the original squad announced on September 9 but failed a fitness assessment. He has not played an ODI since the Champions Trophy final in March 2025. The series was expected to test his ability to bowl 10 overs ahead of India's ODI tour of New Zealand starting November 4.

Shedge, 23, has played three T20Is this year and scored 147 runs in five matches for India A in Sri Lanka. His call-up means he will miss Mumbai's Ranji Trophy opener against Chandigarh on October 11. Jharkhand spinner Anukul Roy has also been added to replace Naman Dhir, who joined India's T20I squad for the West Indies series.
