Tilak Varma hits unbeaten century as South Zone take 90-run lead in Duleep Trophy semi-final

South Zone captain Tilak Varma scored an unbeaten century to guide his side to 285 for nine on day two of the Duleep Trophy semifinal against North Zone in Bengaluru. The hundred came off 218 balls after South Zone had slipped to 80 for five.

Tilak brought up his hundred with a boundary off pacer Gurnoor Brar. The innings gave South Zone a 90-run first-innings lead at the end of the second day.

The century adds to Tilak's case as a potential backup for Shreyas Iyer in India's 2027 World Cup plans, with selectors monitoring his ability to bat in the middle order and contribute with off-spin.
