Tim Paine says Pujara was Australia's biggest headache in India
Paine identifies Pujara as toughest opponent; stresses need for India acclimatisation.
Former Australia captain Tim Paine said Cheteshwar Pujara was the hardest Indian batter to dismiss during his playing days because of his concentration and discipline. Paine is currently coaching Australia A ahead of two four-day matches against India A in Puducherry starting Tuesday.
He praised the value of acclimatising young players to Indian conditions ahead of the 2027 Border-Gavaskar Trophy and highlighted Peter Handscomb's spin-playing ability. Paine also recalled Rishabh Pant's aggressive Gabba innings as an example of the mindset he wants to instil.
Australia have not won a Test series in India for more than 20 years.
