Tim Seifert replaces Devon Conway for Wednesday's first ODI after Conway collided with Matt Henry during a training catch at Eden Park and suffered a concussion.
Seifert's last ODI came more than 18 months ago. The five-match series opens with India, who chased 143 for five in 22.4 overs after New Zealand were bowled out for 185 in 40.2 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.
