Vijay Shankar retires from domestic cricket and IPL

Former India all-rounder Vijay Shankar has retired from Indian domestic cricket and the IPL. The 35-year-old made the announcement to focus on new opportunities in overseas leagues.

Shankar played 12 ODIs and nine T20Is for India between 2018 and 2019, with his last appearance at the 2019 World Cup. He ended his domestic career with a century in the Ranji Trophy after 15 years in the game.

Shankar will now target more cricket in franchise competitions abroad.
