Typhoon Dujuan disrupts India training ahead of Japan T20I

India's historic T20I against Japan in Sano faces weather complications after Typhoon Dujuan washed out Monday's training session.

India's one-off T20I against Japan in Sano on Tuesday faces uncertainty after Typhoon Dujuan brought heavy rain that washed out Monday's training session. The match, scheduled to start at 1pm local time, celebrates 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Captain Shreyas Iyer said the team has little information about conditions at the venue where they have never played before.

The Sano International Cricket Ground was unable to host Japan's T20I against Hong Kong, China on September 20, which was abandoned without a toss. Weather forecasts show improved conditions for Tuesday, though showers remain possible between 2pm and 3pm. India will wear their regular BCCI jersey for the match after an Asian Games kit issue was resolved.

The fixture does not count towards the Asian Games, where India begin their title defence from the quarterfinals on September 28. Ground recovery remains the key variable after successive days of rainfall.
