UP Warriorz lead signings as WPL 2027 auction concludes
UP Warriorz dominated the WPL 2027 mini-auction by signing four players including Sophie Molineux for 1.1 crore.
The WPL 2027 auction wrapped in Kochi with 24 players sold and 28 left unsold. UP Warriorz topped the signings, landing Sophie Molineux for 1.1 crore, Grace Harris for 30 lakh, Sneh Rana for 30 lakh, and Sushma Verma.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru paid 40 lakh for Jess Jonassen, but she's out of WBBL|12 with a hip issue. The season starts January 14 and runs into early February. UP Warriorz filled all eight of their vacant slots and kept 1.15 crore of their original 3.75 crore purse.
Teams had already retained 63 players before the sale, which offered 20 Indian and seven overseas slots from 146 listed players.
