Vaibhav Sooryavanshi takes two wickets in Duleep Trophy quarterfinal

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi claimed two wickets in four balls against North East Zone in the Duleep Trophy quarterfinal.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took two wickets in four balls during East Zone's Duleep Trophy quarterfinal against North East Zone. The 15-year-old finished with figures of 2 for 11 from three overs at an economy of 3.67 after East Zone enforced the follow-on.

Captain Ishan Kishan handed Sooryavanshi the ball despite concerns over the decision. Sooryavanshi claimed the wickets in the same over and said Kishan felt he was taking a risk but did not know he was a wicket-taker. The teenager had scored just eight runs on his Duleep Trophy debut with the bat.

Sooryavanshi's spell came after he built his reputation primarily as a batter. The performance added another dimension to his game at the domestic level.
