Verreynne and Prince each receive demerit point and reprimand

South Africa pair Verreynne and Prince have each been handed a reprimand and demerit point after a breach during the Test series against Australia.

Kyle Verreynne and Ashwell Prince each received one demerit point and an official reprimand for a breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during South Africa's Test series against Australia. The incident occurred in South Africa's second innings when Marques Ackerman was dismissed and attempted a DRS review after the 15-second time limit had expired.

Ashwell Prince shouted repeatedly at the umpires that time remained for the appeal, which caused a delay in Ackerman leaving the field. Match referee Javagal Srinath framed the charges against both players.

Both Prince and Verreynne accepted the charges and sanctions without a formal hearing. The demerit points are the first for each player within a rolling 24-month period and are not expected to affect team selection for upcoming matches.
