Vicky Ostwal credits RCB stint and Prithvi Shaw for Maharashtra form

Vicky Ostwal said his RCB experience and Prithvi Shaw's captaincy helped him take seven wickets in Maharashtra's Ranji win over Services.

Left-arm spinner Vicky Ostwal took five for 50 as Maharashtra bowled Services out for 120 to seal a 127-run Ranji Trophy victory in Delhi on Wednesday. The 24-year-old said captain Prithvi Shaw's proactive approach and precise field placements helped him claim seven wickets across both innings.

Ostwal joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of IPL 2026 after being released by Delhi Capitals. He said working with Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Andy Flower and Dinesh Karthik improved his game and raised his confidence heading into the domestic season.

Ostwal made his name at the 2022 Under-19 World Cup where he took 12 wickets. He said his father travelled three hours daily from Lonavala to Pune to support his cricket from the age of nine.
