Vipraj Nigam faces sexual assault allegation ahead of India debut

Vipraj Nigam, who is set to make his India debut against Japan on Tuesday, faces a sexual assault allegation from a Hyderabad-based woman. The woman claims the incident occurred at a Noida hotel in July 2025 under the pretext of marriage.

The woman waited outside Nigam's residence for hours on Sunday, seeking a meeting with the cricketer who is currently in Japan. Nigam's father spoke to her over the phone and assured her they would discuss the matter after a week.

Nigam filed a counter-complaint in November 2025, alleging the woman threatened to implicate him in a false case. Both parties have lodged complaints against each other, with the woman's case registered at Expressway Police Station in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
