Virat Kohli becomes first Indian to score 7,000 runs in home ODIs

Virat Kohli's unbeaten 139 against West Indies took him past Sachin Tendulkar's record for most runs in home ODIs by an Indian batter.

Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 139 off 88 balls against West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, becoming the first Indian batter to score 7,000 runs in home ODIs. Kohli hit 10 fours and nine sixes in his knock and added 151 runs for the second wicket with Shubman Gill, who scored 110. India chased down 296 with eight wickets in hand.

Kohli's ton was his 10th against the West Indies, the joint-most he has scored against a single nation in ODIs. He has scored 2,400 runs against West Indies at an average of 70.58. Kohli also became the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to notch up 15,000 ODI runs, reaching the milestone in 303 innings compared to Tendulkar's 377.

Kohli has scored 28 centuries in home ODIs at an average of 63.69. He has 7,006 runs from 131 matches in India. Rohit Sharma is third on the list with 5,249 runs from 104 home ODIs, while MS Dhoni has 4,351 runs from 127 matches.
