Warwickshire sign Jake Weatherald for 2027 County season

Warwickshire have signed Australia opener Jake Weatherald for the 2027 County Championship season. The 30-year-old will join the club after being dropped from Australia's Test squad. He is expected to play the early part of the season before returning for domestic commitments at home.

Weatherald has scored more than 6,000 Sheffield Shield runs and holds a first-class average above 40. Warwickshire finished mid-table in Division One this year and need an overseas batter for the next campaign.

The club has not confirmed whether Weatherald will be available for the 2027 Blast or One-Day Cup.
