Wasim Jaffer says Hardik Pandya will lose Mumbai Indians captaincy

Wasim Jaffer said Hardik Pandya will not remain Mumbai Indians captain and named a 36-year-old veteran as the likely successor while excluding Rohit Sharma. Ravichandran Ashwin said Chennai Super Kings would have to offer three players to acquire Hardik Pandya from Mumbai Indians. Ashwin also reacted to a viral video that speculated about a possible trade to Chennai Super Kings.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans have also been linked with Hardik Pandya amid the trade rumours. Ashwin listed CSK, KKR, RR, GT and PBKS as the five franchises pursuing the all-rounder. He added that Hardik no longer requires a captaincy guarantee in his next franchise and named Kolkata Knight Riders as his preferred destination.

Wasim Jaffer did not name Rohit Sharma as Hardik's successor at Mumbai Indians. Chennai Super Kings appeared to drop a hint that they are preparing a trade move for the all-rounder.
