West Indies add Amit Jangoo after Jewel Andrew suffers finger injury
West Indies have included wicketkeeper-batter Amit Jangoo in their T20I squad for the series against India. Jewel Andrew sustained the finger injury while taking a catch during the third ODI in New Chandigarh on Saturday. A fracture has been ruled out and he remains under medical assessment.
Jangoo, 29, has played seven T20Is since his debut in December 2024. He scored 239 runs across the three ODIs, finishing as the third-highest run-scorer in the series behind Shubman Gill and Shai Hope. The first T20I is scheduled for Lucknow on October 6.
Andrew's injury forced Shai Hope up the order during the ODI chase. Jangoo will provide cover for the wicketkeeping role and add middle-order depth for the T20Is.
