Washington Freedom chased down 267 to beat MI New York in an MLC Eliminator — the highest successful chase in men's T20 history. Andries Gous and Steven Smith both scored centuries, adding 241 for the third wicket as the side powered through.
Gous made 132 and Smith finished unbeaten on 110. MI New York had set the target on the back of Nicholas Pooran's 31-ball hundred earlier in the match. The fixture produced 51 sixes in total — a bruising contest between two sides swinging for everything.
Three centuries across one match is rare. The win takes Freedom into the next stage of the MLC playoffs.
