What policy will BCCI set on overseas league participation?

BCCI Apex Council will debate retirement and participation rules for overseas leagues amid existing bans on active players. A five-year cooling-off period is under consideration.

The BCCI Apex Council is scheduled to discuss and announce a policy covering retirement or participation rules for Indian players in overseas leagues. Current regulations bar active players from joining foreign T20 competitions. The council will also examine a proposed five-year cooling-off period for those who retire early to play abroad. Earlier restrictions have already prompted several cricketers to end their careers ahead of schedule. The final decision rests with the BCCI president and secretary after the Apex Council meeting.
