Why does Chahal want bowling machines on T20 pitches?

Yuzvendra Chahal watched West Indies chase 250 in Ranchi and decided something had to give. Flat pitches, dew, small boundaries and the Impact Player rule have handed batters an edge that keeps growing, he said. Powerplay totals that once felt ambitious are now routine, and sides are chasing 260 in 19 overs in the IPL.

Chahal’s fix was blunt: if bowlers keep getting nothing, teams might as well wheel out bowling machines. India have one more chance to test a different approach when they take the field in Indore on Sunday.
