Yashasvi Jaiswal charged at Asitha Fernando after dismissal in Colombo Test

Yashasvi Jaiswal charged toward Sri Lanka bowler Asitha Fernando after his dismissal on the opening day of the second Test in Colombo. The pair made visible head-to-head contact before Sri Lankan players intervened to separate them and prevent further escalation. Jaiswal was out for 36 off 45 balls with nine boundaries.

India's batting coach Sitanshu Kotak didn't hold back afterward. He said Jaiswal shouldn't have gone so close to the bowler—it was a moment that shouldn't have happened. The tension had been building during a tight passage of play on day one, and Jaiswal's response was the flashpoint.

Both teams will aim to keep the focus back on the cricket when play continues on day two. No further disciplinary action has been reported from match officials.
