Sanju Samson says India stayed switched on during rain delays
Sanju Samson said India stayed switched on through rain delays by holding meetings and gym sessions before the Asian Games semi-final.
Sanju Samson said India used the weather-enforced downtime at the Asian Games to refine strategies and maintain focus ahead of their men's cricket semi-final against Sri Lanka. Persistent rain had washed out all four quarter-finals, leaving both teams without match practice for nearly ten days at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin.
Samson said constant team meetings and gym sessions kept the squad mentally engaged. He added that the break allowed bowlers to rehearse plans on the slow pitches expected in the knockout stage.
The second semi-final began under clear skies on Thursday after the first semi-final between Pakistan and Bangladesh was reduced to 13 overs per side because of a wet outfield.

The enforced lay-off tests whether India's depth of planning can compensate for lack of match rhythm, especially against a Sri Lanka side that also arrives under-prepared and may benefit equally from the reset.
