India retain Sooryavanshi for Zimbabwe T20Is, rest Samson
India have retained 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the squad for the Zimbabwe T20Is while resting Sanju Samson for the three-match series.
India kept 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the squad for the Zimbabwe T20Is and rested Sanju Samson from the tour. Sooryavanshi made his India debut during the England series just before this, scoring 14 with two sixes before he fell.
Ashok Sharma, Yash Thakur and Prabhsimran Singh also earned maiden call-ups. The move gives them a chance to play meaningful cricket at international level, though it's Samson's omission that's raised eyebrows — Ravichandran Ashwin questioned the decision, especially after Samson's T20 World Cup run.
