Shreyas Iyer said Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will have to wait for regular opportunities because Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson continue to perform consistently at the top of the order. The captain added that the 15-year-old's exposure to overseas conditions during the tour would help him prepare for future assignments. Iyer also noted that the strong bench strength creates healthy competition within the squad.

India's decision to keep established openers shows that selection is driven by current form and proven partnerships rather than potential alone, even for a player of Sooryavanshi's talent.
