Bhuvneshwar added to India squad for fifth T20I against West Indies
Bhuvneshwar Kumar replaces injured Arshdeep Singh in India's squad for the series-deciding T20I in Bengaluru. Rain threatens the match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been added to India's squad for the fifth T20I against West Indies after Arshdeep Singh sustained a shoulder injury during the fourth match in Hyderabad. The 36-year-old last played a T20I in November 2022. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said a decision on Arshdeep's participation would be taken before the game based on his recovery.
India and West Indies are level at 2-2 in the series. Rain threat looms over the decider at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, with forecasts showing significant chances of precipitation from the afternoon onwards. The SubAir drainage system may be needed if showers arrive.
Bhuvneshwar was due to return during the New Zealand T20I series starting October 22. He has been the leading wicket-taker among Indian pacers in the last two IPL seasons with 45 scalps.

Bhuvneshwar's recall gives India a proven swing bowler for a venue and conditions where experience in the powerplay could decide a high-scoring series.
