Sanju Samson says constant meetings keeping India switched on at Asian Games

Samson confirmed that India used weather-enforced downtime to discuss strategies and maintain mental readiness for the semifinal clash.

India opener Sanju Samson said constant meetings and team activities have helped the squad remain switched on despite rain disruptions at the Asian Games in Japan. India has been in the country for 10 days but has only played a five-overs-a-side game against Japan on September 22.

Samson said the players are excited to take the field after spending time in the gym and discussing combinations ahead of Thursday's semifinal against Sri Lanka. India's opening match against Afghanistan was abandoned due to rain, and the team has yet to have a proper training session.

The outfield is expected to be soft and the pitch sluggish in Nisshin. Samson said both teams are coming into the match fresh and that the unknown conditions add to the challenge of the semifinal.

The enforced downtime may have worked in India's favour by allowing extended tactical discussions without the fatigue of multiple matches, potentially giving them an edge in preparation quality over teams that played more games.
