Shai Hope struck an unbeaten 102 off 45 balls as West Indies chased down 250 to beat India by six wickets in the second T20I at Ranchi on Friday. The victory levelled the five-match series 1-1 and marked West Indies' highest successful T20I chase, the second-highest in men's T20I history.

Sanju Samson made 82 from 41 balls to help India reach 249 for 5 after Shreyas Iyer won the toss. Roston Chase took 3 for 24 while Mayank Yadav claimed three early wickets in the chase before Sherfane Rutherford's 84 off 37 balls and a 120-run fourth-wicket stand shifted momentum.

India and West Indies meet again in the third T20I at Indore on Sunday.

West Indies' chase only became possible once Mayank Yadav left the attack after three overs; the rest of the bowling unit couldn't contain the middle overs once Rutherford and Hope found their range.
