India brought Shivam Dube and Bhuvneshwar Kumar into the playing XI for the fifth T20I against the West Indies at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The match was reduced to nine overs per side because of rain.

Dube replaced Nitish Kumar Reddy, while Bhuvneshwar came in for Mayank Yadav. Bhuvneshwar last played a T20I at the 2022 World Cup semi-final, a gap of 1,425 days.

West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and chose to bowl first. He said the decision was aimed at chasing under the shortened conditions.

CricHubb Take

Bhuvneshwar's recall after 1,425 days shows the management values proven death bowling over raw pace in a nine-over contest, even when the squad already carries two wrist-spinners.
