Abhishek Nayar reveals technical adjustments that helped Shreyas Iyer end 67-match wait for maiden T20I century
Abhishek Nayar reveals technical adjustments to grip and movement that helped Shreyas Iyer end a 67-match wait for his maiden T20I century.
Abhishek Nayar worked with Shreyas Iyer on grip, initial movement and bowler-specific tactics after the captain told him he couldn't generate enough power to clear the boundary. Nayar visited Iyer's home after the Asian Games, squeezing in a couple of hours before the India captain had to catch a flight.
Iyer scored an unbeaten 102 off 43 balls in the series opener against the West Indies in Lucknow. He reached the hundred with a straight six off Roston Chase, his second T20 hundred at the Ekana Stadium, and India won by eight wickets.

The home visit matters because it gave Iyer an external eye at a moment when captaincy and travel left him no space to solve the issue himself.
