India's 124-run victory over Sri Lanka in the Asian Games semi-final is the highest winning margin in a men's T20I tournament final or semi-final between two full-member sides. The previous record was India's 96-run win over New Zealand in the 2026 T20 World Cup final. India now hold the record for the most wins by a margin of 100 runs or more in men's T20Is with 11 such victories.

Ishan Kishan's unbeaten 80 from 46 balls is the highest score by an Indian batter batting at number five or lower in T20Is. He surpassed Manish Pandey's unbeaten 79 against South Africa in Centurion in 2018. Sri Lanka were dismissed for 45 in 9.5 overs, the joint-lowest total by a Test-playing nation in men's T20Is.

India will face Pakistan in the gold medal match on Saturday at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin.

The margin and the opposition level together place this result in a narrower band than India's previous Asian Games gold-medal campaigns. A final against Pakistan offers a different test because both sides will field near full-strength T20I line-ups rather than the second-string Sri Lankan unit India faced in the semi-final.
