Shreyas Iyer to captain India in final two ODIs against New Zealand
Shreyas Iyer takes over as captain for the last two ODIs while Gill rests before the Tests.
Shreyas Iyer will lead India in the fourth and fifth ODIs against New Zealand after Shubman Gill steps down for the final two matches. Gill captains the first three ODIs, with Iyer as his deputy. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are named in both squads.
Ishan Kishan will keep wicket in the first three ODIs, while Kumar Kushagra takes over for the last two. Tilak Varma joins the squad for the final two matches. Axar Patel replaces Ravindra Jadeja across both phases.
The five-match series begins on November 4 in Auckland and ends on November 15 in Mount Maunganui.

Splitting the captaincy across the series lets India manage workloads but also tests Iyer's leadership in a format where he has limited recent international experience.
