Shreyas Iyer praises India bowlers' clarity after 14-run win over West Indies
India captain Shreyas Iyer said his bowlers showed confidence and clear plans in defending 223 to beat West Indies by 14 runs and take a 2-1 lead in the T20I series.
India captain Shreyas Iyer praised his bowlers for their confident approach and clear plans after the team defeated West Indies by 14 runs in the third T20I at Holkar Stadium on Sunday. Arshdeep Singh took three wickets for 44 runs while Naman Dhir claimed two scalps to restrict West Indies to 209 for seven while chasing 224. Iyer said each bowler was decisive in execution and up for the challenge when he passed them the ball.
Iyer highlighted Abhishek Sharma's 69 off 30 balls and Ishan Kishan's 37 off 18 deliveries for giving India a strong start. He also noted Prince Yadav's cameo towards the end of the innings. Iyer said West Indies can never be taken lightly and the team had to avoid complacency on a high-scoring ground. The victory marked the first time a team batting first has won in the white-ball series.

Iyer's emphasis on process over aggression suggests India are learning to defend totals without relying solely on early wickets or death bowling variations.
