Shivam Dube dismissed Hasan Nawaz on the final ball as India beat Pakistan by 19 runs to win the Asian Games 2026 men's cricket gold medal on Saturday. Needing 20 runs off the last delivery, Nawaz gloved a short ball from Dube to Sanju Samson behind the stumps.

Nawaz had made 96 off 51 balls after being dropped twice. Axar Patel and Washington Sundar each took two wickets for India. Abhishek Sharma scored 61 off 28 balls and Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 51 off 22 balls as India posted 211 for six.

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made 15 off nine balls. Ahmed Daniyal and Arafat Minhas took two wickets each for Pakistan. India had beaten Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the semi-final.

CricHubb Take

Dube's final-ball wicket masked a larger pattern: India needed three different bowlers to finish an innings that one man nearly stole. That reliance on collective death bowling will be tested again when the same attack faces full-strength sides in bilateral T20Is.
