Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 223 from 133 balls against West Indies in Guwahati. The innings included 26 fours and eight sixes. Gill reached his double century in 117 balls, the fastest in ODI history.

India chased 406 to win by eight wickets with 39 balls remaining. The total was India's highest successful ODI chase and only the second instance of a 400-plus target being successfully chased in the format. Gill and Rohit Sharma added 255 for the first wicket before Sharma fell for 101.

West Indies posted 405 for 7, their highest ODI total. John Campbell, Shai Hope and Amir Jangoo each scored centuries. Kuldeep Yadav took 2 for 65 and became the second-fastest Indian to reach 200 ODI wickets.
