Shubman Gill and Shafali Verma win ICC Player of the Month awards
Shubman Gill earned his fifth ICC Player of the Month award while Shafali Verma claimed her second after strong performances in September.
Shubman Gill claimed his record fifth ICC Player of the Month award for September after scoring 333 runs in the ODI series against West Indies, including an unbeaten 223 that remains the fastest double century in ODI history. He beat nominees Abhishek Sharma and Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza.
Shafali Verma won the women's award for her performances in the Asia Cup and Asian Games. She aggregated 360 runs at a strike rate of 184.61 in the Asia Cup and added 188 runs across three matches at the Asian Games where India won gold.
This is the third time Indian players have won both awards in the same month.
