Sri Lanka completed the second-highest successful chase in ODI history, reaching 430 for eight wickets to beat England by two wickets with one ball remaining in Rawalpindi on Thursday. England had posted 429 for four, powered by Harry Brook's 202 off 116 balls, the fastest double century in the format and the first by an England batter.

Pavan Rathnayake made 130 and Avishka Fernando 97 as Sri Lanka recovered from 24 for two. Dasun Shanaka struck 97 off 50 balls before Janith Liyanage finished unbeaten on 61 off 21 deliveries.
