BCCI bans India U-19 leg-spinner Rohit Yadav for two years

BCCI imposes two-year ban on U-19 leg-spinner Rohit Yadav for age fraud, ruling him out of upcoming Australia series.

The BCCI has banned India U-19 cricketer Rohit Yadav for two years over age fraud. Yadav had travelled to Sri Lanka with the India U-19 team earlier this year.

He was subsequently selected for the side's series against Australia scheduled in Rajkot later this month. The ban prevents him from participating in that series.

The board's decision follows verification of his age documentation after the Sri Lanka tour. Yadav had progressed through Bengal's age-group system before earning his India U-19 call-up.

The ban highlights how age verification processes remain reactive rather than preventive, allowing players to reach national age-group level before documentation discrepancies surface.
