Ashleigh Gardner says Sydney Sixers hold strongest WBBL list in years
Gardner said the Sixers have one of their strongest squads in years and returns from the Spring Challenge win give domestic players extra belief.
Ashleigh Gardner said the Sydney Sixers enter WBBL|12 with their strongest squad in years after the club added Alice Capsey and recalled Maddy Darke. Gardner, in her second season as captain, told cricket.com.au that the stable core plus in-form players give the side confidence ahead of the 12th edition. The Sixers finished third last season before losing the semi-final at home to the Scorchers.

The Sixers' decision to drop Sophie Ecclestone at the last draft and back Sophia Dunkley paid off with 354 runs from the England batter. Repeating that level of backing for domestic depth, rather than adding another overseas star, could be the margin that finally gets them past the Scorchers in the knockout stages.
