The Cricket Association of Bengal has banned 65 players for age fraud, News18 reported on Friday. The action includes a former India Under-19 World Cup winner from the 2020 squad.

The crackdown follows a review of age records across Bengal's junior teams. Officials said the offenders will also lose any state scholarships they had received.

The BCCI is expected to examine the cases for possible nationwide sanctions. The association has asked district bodies to complete fresh age verifications by the end of September.

Age verification remains a recurring issue in Indian domestic cricket and each new case raises questions about how many more players are still competing with false documents.
