Delhi Capitals appoint Amit Mishra as spin bowling coach for IPL 2027
Mishra returns to Delhi Capitals in a coaching role after retiring last year. He remains the franchise’s all-time leading wicket-taker.
Delhi Capitals named former India leg-spinner Amit Mishra as their spin bowling coach ahead of the IPL 2027 season. Mishra, who took 174 wickets in 162 IPL matches including three hat-tricks, retired from professional cricket in September 2025.
Mishra represented Delhi Daredevils, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants during his playing career. He holds the franchise record with 110 wickets in 103 appearances for Delhi Capitals.
He joins head coach Sourav Ganguly, assistant coach Yuvraj Singh and fast-bowling coach Chaminda Vaas on the support staff. Delhi Capitals have not won an IPL title and last reached the final in 2020.

Delhi’s decision to pair Mishra’s franchise knowledge with Ganguly’s leadership suggests the franchise is prioritising continuity over external resets.
