Prasidh Krishna ruled out for three to four weeks with hamstring injury

Prasidh Krishna's hamstring injury puts his New Zealand ODI participation in doubt and adds to India's fast-bowling depth concerns ahead of the tour.

Prasidh Krishna felt a hamstring strain during India's second ODI against West Indies. The 30-year-old pacer reported straight to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and selectors now expect him out for at least three weeks.

He is unlikely to play the opening ODI in Auckland on November 4. That leaves India's fast-bowling roster thin: Bumrah's workload is being managed, Hardik Pandya and Harshit Rana are already sidelined, and the tour moves straight into five T20Is and two Tests after the ODIs.

Gurnoor Brar, Mohammed Siraj and Anshul Kamboj will likely fill the ODI slots, while Test regulars may be rested for the longer formats.

The timing matters more than the lay-off. India need to see whether these fringe pacers can handle white-ball pressure before the 2027 cycle hardens, not just plug a gap for November.
