India open 2027 ODI World Cup against Australia on October 7 in Cape Town
India begin their 2027 ODI World Cup campaign against Australia in Cape Town on October 7 before meeting Pakistan three days later in Johannesburg.
The ICC confirmed India's full group-stage schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup after the Cape Town launch on October 1. India open against defending champions Australia in Cape Town on October 7 before facing Pakistan in Johannesburg on October 10. The Men in Blue then play Afghanistan in Tshwane on October 14, Qualifier A in Bloemfontein on October 17 and Zimbabwe in Victoria Falls on October 24.
India sit in Group A with Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A. The top three teams from each group advance to the Super 7 stage along with the better fourth-placed side. Semi-final 1 is set for November 17 in Cape Town and semi-final 2 for November 18 in Tshwane. The final is scheduled for November 21 in Johannesburg.
The 14-team tournament runs from October 2 to November 21 across 12 venues in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The ICC ticket ballot opened on October 1 and closes on November 21.

The Super 7 reset means the group-stage results carry less weight than in past editions. A single slip against a qualifier could force India into a tougher path through the seven-team phase.
