Four Indian players feature on the ICC Player of the Month shortlist for September after standout performances in T20Is and ODIs.
Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Shafali Verma and Shree Charani are among the nominees for the ICC Player of the Month award for September. The ICC announced the shortlist on Tuesday.
Abhishek scored 229 runs in four T20Is against Afghanistan including a 30-ball century, the fastest by a batter from a Full Member nation. Gill made 333 runs in two ODIs against West Indies including a 223 not out that completed the second-highest successful chase in ODI history. Shafali Verma scored 360 runs at a strike rate of 184.61 in the Women's Asia Cup and Asian Games. Shree Charani took 18 wickets in seven T20Is at an economy rate of 3.30 and reached the highest rating points in women's T20I bowling history.
Other nominees are Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza and Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu. Gill is in contention for his fifth ICC Player of the Month award.
