Australia Women players demand schedule changes to protect the game's visibility
Australia Women players push back against a home schedule that sidelines their matches during peak summer viewing periods.
Senior Australia Women players including Ellyse Perry and Beth Mooney have called for changes to the home summer schedule after learning they will play only nine matches at home between October and March. The three ODIs against Bangladesh and three T20Is against New Zealand are scheduled outside peak summer, while the men's Test series against New Zealand and the entire Big Bash run during school holidays. Director of women's cricket at the Australian Players Association Holly Ferling warned that without prime-time exposure, the women's game risks losing relevance and revenue.

The dispute is not just about fixtures; it reflects a deeper structural risk that privatising the Big Bash could further marginalise women's cricket unless scheduling protections are built into any new ownership model.
